When calling the Dog Warden, you will be prompted to leave a message. If the call is in reference to a dog bite or vicious dog advise the Communications Officer and they will dispatch the Dog Warden or a Deputy depending on the hour of day.

Confinement of Dogs- O.R.C. 955.22 (Running at Large)

The owner or keeper of every dog shall at all times keep such dog either confined upon the premises of the owner or under reasonable control of some person, except when lawfully engaged in hunting accompanied by an owner or handler.

Registration of Dogs- O.R.C. 955.01

Every person who owns, keeps or harbors a dog more than 3 months of age or older shall have a tag. Registration can be purchased at the Logan County Auditor’s Office. The Auditor’s Office can be reached by telephone at 937-599-7209.


 

If you have found a dog

You can contact the Logan County Dog Warden. After regular business hours contact the Logan County Sheriff’s office and if the dog does have a valid dog tag the Communications Staff may be able to advise the owner’s name.

The Logan County Dog Warden does not handle calls involving cats. There are no laws in Ohio regarding cats. Also wildlife animals such as coyotes, raccoons and possums contact the Ohio Department Natural Resources by telephone at 614-644-3929, ext. 1208.
